Southern Region Competition Cancelled until 2021

Hi All,
We hope you are all well, that you're enjoying the zoom training sessions and / or accessing the drop box for home training plans etc.
I have also updated the Club facebook page this week with updates on how we are getting on with regards to returning to gymnastics so please keep your eyes peeled for these. However this email is mainly about the Southern Region Competition.
The Southern Region Championships were rescheduled for November 2020; however given the current restrictions on training and access to training venues only being granted from this weekend the Southern Region Technical Committee only feel it is right that we cancel this year's competition. This was by no means an easy decision and will take away something for us all to look forward to. Given our discipline is both team and individual based we have to assess how possible it will be for those in partnerships to train together, taking also into consideration current social distancing guidelines. In addition, the time scale gymnasts will have to work to competition fitness once we return to the gym. Whilst we want to provide opportunities for the gymnasts to take part in the competition we must also acknowledge that the event shouldn’t run at a loss. If current measures stay in place we would have to run the competition without an audience and open to individual competitors only something which simply is not feasible.
The Southern Region Committee will now work to agree dates for planning our 2021 competition and hope to see you all there
